Country Creations Furniture

My husband is just starting to build his inventory, but here are a few examples of his beautiful work. The first is a walnut farm table. This thing weighs a ton and will last for generations.

The other two photos are of some end tables he designed and handcrafted. They are made of air dried cherry wood. They have great character, lots of worm holes. The photos don't do them justice.

Oriental Dreams

This will be my last card for a while. I have purses and Valentine treats to make. My daughter calls this card my prettiest one yet. I designed this for The Play Date Cafe's challenge #15. The image is from a library book that was torn up and being discarded. I hope I didn't ink so much that it drowned the rich colors. The card itself is a very dark green and under the image of the lady and "dream" is teal.

Twitterpatted!

My niece always used the word "Twitterpated" for animals that seemed "in love". Bambi uses the word in the Disney movie. So when I saw this sticker I knew this little bird from Stretch Your Imagination would be a perfect match for it. I made this card for Cricut Cardz challenge #11. It calls for a Valentine's Day card without hearts. I love the way it turned out.

Sweet Baby Girl

I created this card for both the Crafty Creations challenge "Wings" and the Creative Inspirations challenge "Pink and Cream". This is an s-fold card. I stamped the image and colored it with water colors. I love this stamp, I found it at a thrift store for $2!

Bunny Basket - Thinking Spring!

So, we have 8 inches of snow here right now and 6 more one the way. And I'm thinking Spring! I created this for the BB2 challenge using the rabbit from Winter Woodland. I wanted some Easter grass to put in it, but I wasn't going to go out in the storm to search for some. I used an empty herbal tea box for the base. I was hoping for a chocolaty bunny look. And of course he had to have a fuzzy tail.

Magical Fireflies Card

I made this card for The Dutch Dare Card Challenge. The theme this week is Summer in Winter. And, to me, it isn't summer until the fireflies arrive. I'm frustrated with the way my photos are turning out tonight. I may try to get a better photo tomorrow in the daylight. The lid of the jar is painted silver, the "stars" and moon are both very sparkly white glitter. The grass in front of the jar is not as dark as it is showing in the photo. I once saved a beautiful website that had a wonderful poem about fireflies on it. I wanted to put it in this card, but can't locate it right now. I'll post it on here if I come across it. Thanks for looking!

Lavender, green, black and white Valentine Card

This is the card I created for Cricut Cardz Challenge #10. The card had to be a Valentine in lavender, green, black, and white. I think the colors are such a pretty combination. I had a hard time getting the photograph to show the card in the true shade of colors that it is. This is the closest that I could get. This card was really an experiment. I wanted it to look 3-D. I think I succeeded in that, but I ended up with a little bit of wrinkling. I had to do the stitch work to close the edges because the layers of paper were so thick, which is okay with me because I love stitching on paper.

Thinking of You Card

I made this card for Cricut Cardz Challenge. It had to be a "thinking of you" s-fold card. The bird and tag for the background are both from the Winter Wonderland cartridge. This card has already been mailed out to my son's teacher. Her husband is very ill, needing
a heart transplant. I put this scripture verse inside "He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart." Psalm 91:4.

I love you more than ice cream!

This is the Valentine card I made for my husband. It is an s fold card, I love the s fold because it looks so fancy without alot of effort. I used the Stretch Your Imagination cart to cut the ice cream cone. I added the hot pink glitter to resemble sprinkles. Inside is says "I love you more than ice cream". Hubby sometimes says to me, "I love you more than Pepsi" (he drinks a 2 liter of Pepsi a day, so that really means alot, lol!) and I will laugh, then he will say "I love you more than chickens" ( he raises chickens and he spends a lot of time with them), and he will go on like that. So this is my play on that.

Water Color Portraits

I thought I would show off a couple water color portraits I did for my sister for her birthday. When I give these as gifts (I did one for my mother-in-law for Christmas too). I always get a "Wow, how did you do that?". I use a stenciling technique that involves using masking fluid to keep the white areas white. If you would like to learn the technique there is a tutorial located here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=301135.0 . Thank you weighanchor for a great tutorial!

Flowers For My Valentine Card

I have been working on some Valentines. This one was inspired by a Bitten By the Bug 2 challenge. The criteria was that it must have some purple. Well, I went a little crazy with the purple. I think this maybe the prettiest card I have ever created. The heart is a 5 1/2 inch heart from George. The flowers are made up of layers of different sized flowers, also cut from George, and inked with purple. The middle of each flower are flower shaped beads I had saved from a broken necklace. The "I love you" is also cut from George. Thanks for looking!

I'm back!

I just don't have time to get on here. I am going to make more of an effort. My purpose here today is to ask for your prayers for those in Haiti. And financial support, if your situation allows it.

Please pray for a girl by the name of Courtney Hayes, she was in Haiti on a mission trip with 13 other college girls. Courtney is one of three of the girls who have not been found since the devastion of the earthquake. Her hotel was demolished. She is from McDonough, GA.

If you are donating your money, please be careful that you are donating to a legitimate organization. The American Red Cross would be one such organization. Another is the Wesleyan Church Relief Fund. Please make your check payable to “The Wesleyan Church as you mail your timely donations to the “Wesleyan Emergency Relief Fund”, 13300 Olio Road, Fishers, Indiana, 46037 or call 800.707.7715. Use fund number “WM07-0005” with the description “Haiti Relief."
